Use the referral before placing your order
Tesla says a referral link cannot be added afterward. Open the link, choose an eligible new vehicle and confirm the benefit in the order flow. Keep a copy of the terms and final price for your records.

Buyer, referrer and loyalty benefits are different

A second email address does not establish first-time-customer eligibility. Tesla can withhold benefits for conduct contrary to the program’s intent. A genuine family member’s purchase must independently meet the rules; shared household ownership is not a guarantee that both sides qualify.
Compare the total price before assuming offers combine
An inventory price reduction, referral offer and financing promotion can affect different parts of a deal. Their existence does not prove they can all be used together. Ask Tesla to confirm the exact combination for your vehicle and payment method.
Compare the final vehicle price, fees, interest and any required delivery deadline. Value credits only for purchases you expect to make. A lower monthly payment can still cost more over a longer loan.
There is no dependable rule that waiting until quarter-end produces the best deal. Set a budget and compare the offers actually available when you are ready to buy.
Check when credits arrive and expire
Tesla Credits are not cash and cannot be transferred. The U.S. program generally expires referral credits 12 months after the Grant Date. Tesla’s Canadian page states that Ontario referrer benefits do not expire; check the rules and Wallet details for your location.
Before ordering, confirm eligibility, the final price and the benefit you will actually use. Then compare ongoing charging and insurance costs so a referral supports a sensible purchase.
Budget separately for ownership essentials such as a suitable home charger and, if useful, a backup key ring. Accessory purchases do not establish eligibility for a Tesla referral benefit.
