The information we handle depends on how you use TeslAddict. You can read our articles without creating an account.

Only include information that is needed for your request. Please do not send passwords, payment-card details or sensitive personal information through Ask TeslAddict or general enquiry forms.

RouteSmart and your location

Route planning uses the places and preferences you provide. Map and routing services, including Mapbox, process location and route requests to display maps and calculate journeys. Nearby searches can also involve charging and travel providers.

“Start from my location” asks your browser for permission to access your device location. You can decline and enter a starting point manually, or withdraw permission in your browser or device settings. Locations you type are still processed to provide the route.

Trip information can appear in page addresses, browser storage, saved account items and route-search records. A shared trip link may reveal its starting point, destination and other trip details. Check a link before sharing it, particularly if it starts at your home.

Ask TeslAddict

Ask TeslAddict uses OpenAI to help generate responses. Your question and relevant context are sent to that service. Search questions and associated technical information may also be retained in our site’s search logs for review, troubleshooting and content planning. AI answers can be incomplete or incorrect; verify important details before acting on them.

Calculators and InspectSmart

Inputs such as vehicle details, mileage, energy costs and inspection choices help produce the result or guidance you request. Depending on the tool, selections may remain in your browser or be included when you save or submit information. These tools provide estimates and guidance; do not enter account credentials or information about other people.

EV service enquiries

If you contact a listed business or use an available call-connection feature, the relevant service providers process the contact or call information needed to connect you. Connection records may include routing, time, duration and status. A provider’s own handling of your enquiry is covered by its privacy policy.

We use cookies and similar technologies for site functions, preferences, measurement and referral attribution. Browser storage can also retain temporary planner state and selections.

• Site functions: sign-in, security, saved preferences and features you request.
• Measurement: services such as Google Analytics help us understand visits and interactions. Usage information is not necessarily anonymous, and may involve online identifiers.
• Affiliate attribution: partners may use cookies or referral parameters to credit a qualifying visit, quote or purchase.
• Embedded content: maps, videos and other third-party content may receive your IP address and browser information when loaded, and may use their own cookies.

You can review, block or delete cookies and site data in your browser. This may sign you out or remove saved preferences. Cookie controls in your browser do not necessarily stop every type of server-side processing. Google also provides an Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Services that support hosting, security, email delivery, analytics, accounts, maps and AI may process information needed to operate the feature you use. Our site uses WordPress and Hostinger infrastructure; email and subscription services can include Site Mailer, Hostinger Reach and Mailchimp.

When you open a partner link, search travel options or choose an external navigation app, the selected provider receives the information included in that request, such as your destination, search terms, coordinates or referral identifier. The provider may collect additional information directly from you.

Stay22, Viator, retailers, booking providers, Apple Maps, Waze and other linked services operate under their own terms and privacy policies. Payments and bookings completed on a partner’s site are handled by that provider.

Information may be processed outside your province or country, including in the United States, where different laws may apply. Information may also be disclosed when necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect rights or investigate misuse.

Email updates

If you subscribe, we use your email address and subscription preferences to send the updates you request. You can unsubscribe using the link in those emails. We do not sell, rent or trade newsletter email addresses.

RouteSmart Destination Network

Business applications can include your name, role, contact information, property or business details, location, amenities, charging facilities, commercial interests and plans. We store enquiries privately in WordPress and notify our partnerships team at partners@tesladdict.com so the team can review and respond.

Submitting an enquiry does not automatically publish a listing or subscribe you to marketing. The form’s contact permission relates to that enquiry. Sharing an application with a potential installation or commercial partner requires a separate agreement.

Different records serve different purposes. Account and saved-item records support your account; enquiry records support review and follow-up; technical and search logs support security, troubleshooting and service improvement. Copies may also be held in backups or by service providers.

Retention depends on the record, the purpose it serves and any applicable legal or operational requirements. Removing information from an active system may not remove it immediately from backups. Contact us to ask about a particular record or request deletion.

We use access controls and other technical and organisational measures to restrict access and protect information. No online service or transmission method can guarantee complete security.

You can manage browser permissions, clear cookies and site data, unsubscribe from email updates and change information through available account controls.

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to request access to your personal information, correct it, request deletion or withdraw consent. Contact us to make a request or raise a concern. We may need to verify your identity; please send only the details needed to identify your account or enquiry initially.

Some requests may be subject to legal exceptions or records we need to retain. Withdrawing permission for information needed by a feature may prevent that feature from working. You may also contact your local privacy regulator, including the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Our services are intended for a general adult audience. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate permission, contact us so we can review it.
