Plan your next EV trip and find Charging Stops, Stays & Attractions with RouteSmart. Start with the journey you want, then build a charging plan around your EV, battery reserve and the places worth stopping.
Start with your actual journey
Open the RouteSmart planner and enter your starting point and destination. You can choose Use my location when your browser and device permit location access, or enter a city or address yourself.
Choose the EV you will drive and set your departure charge and arrival target. Review the selected locations before planning, especially when a place name has several matches. Add a stop when there is somewhere you genuinely want to visit, rather than planning only around the shortest possible drive.
Review the charging plan before setting off
Use the results to compare the proposed journey and charging stops with your available time. Treat energy use, arrival charge and charging time as estimates. Weather, speed, terrain, vehicle load and conditions at the charger can change what the trip requires.
Confirm the connector, access hours and current operating status with the charging operator before relying on a stop. Keep a usable battery reserve and a backup charging location. For a Tesla, review the route in the vehicle too; the car’s navigation and charging guidance remain useful during the drive.
Make the stops part of the trip
Look beyond the charging session: find somewhere to eat, an attraction to explore or a stay that fits the route. Confirm opening hours and booking conditions with the provider. For an overnight stop, check the property’s actual charging arrangement rather than assuming every hotel has a charger you can use.
RouteSmart brings Charging Stops, Stays & Attractions into the same journey. Booking availability, final prices and provider terms are confirmed in the booking flow; a route estimate is not a reservation.
Use a destination guide when you need an idea
Browse RouteSmart’s destination ideas, open a guide and choose your own starting city. The destination supplies the inspiration; the planner should reflect where you are leaving from and the EV you are using.
Before a longer Tesla journey, consider whether a vehicle-specific spare kit fits your plans: compare the Model 3 spare-tire kit and Model Y kit. Confirm the model year, wheel/brake fit and selected tools package; neither kit is a universal EV spare.
Build the first version of your trip, inspect the stops, then adjust the plan around the time and reserve you want to keep.
